Summer vibes in Manchester

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Are you dreaming of sunshine, sand and good times?

If so, you don’t need to travel too far to find summer vibes. Throughout the summer, there are lots of great events to go along to all across Manchester – from a beach and beer gardens, to an outdoor cinema – you’ll be sure to find summer on your doorstep.

Come to the Beach at Heaton Park

As the biggest inland beach in the North West, Come to the Beach returns to Heaton Park this summer. With heaps of sand, a paddling pool and deck chairs it’s the perfect place to unwind whilst also enjoying some fun park rides.
Come to the Beach runs until 3 September – FREE ENTRY

Outdoor bar & beer gardens

If you fancy staying in the city centre, you will be spoilt for choice with places to relax with a cold drink under the sun with a whole range of cool outdoor bars and beer gardens. Venues such as Bluu bar in Northern Quarter and The Wharf in Castlefield along the canal are great places to hang around in the afternoon sun.

Outdoor cinema

The Oast House in Spinningfields will showcase movies on Tuesday evenings (from 6pm) with its free outdoor cinema. With some great films including Jurrasic Park, Inception, ET and Dirty Dancing – make sure you get there early as spaces are limited.

More events

The Manchester Jazz Festival kicks off on Friday 28 July and there will be free events throughout the day in St Ann’s Square from 1pm onwards. If you’re still feeling peckish check out the Manchester Picnic Tasting and Demos event also in St Ann’s Square from Friday – Sunday.
