Beat the summer weather blues

Got some free time this week? While the weather hasn’t been great there are still plenty of events and activities to keep you entertained during the summer holidays.

On Thursday 3 August, HOME Manchester are opening a series of exciting events throughout August around the ‘This is Human’ exhibition. Based on the four main controlling areas; emotion, movement, rhythm and sense, this exhibition contains a combination of creative ways to display its art. This is a must see for anyone who enjoys something unique to take inspiration from.

Feel like doing something outdoorsy? The Sport Community in Salford are organising open water swimming sessions until the end of September. Based in Salford Quays, this is a fun way of enjoying a nice sunny day this summer.

Keeping the 40 year tradition, Manchester Festival is bringing the North West’s biggest celebration of Caribbean culture this weekend in Alexandra Park. This vibrant event will include music, costumes, dances and many more vibrant aspects of this interesting culture. If you go, make sure to have your camera ready. See the official website for more information.
