Future Manchester Social Responsibility

Student Volunteering Week – Monday 19 to Sunday 25 February

Student Volunteering Week is a week-long celebration of everything to do with student volunteering! This national event offers you the chance to find out more about the wide range of volunteering opportunities available whilst at University.

We’ll have events happening throughout the week; and will be distributing thank you cards to some of our VoluntHeroes to show our appreciation. So, whether you’re an experienced volunteer, or have never tried volunteering before, there’s something for you!

Big Action Day

Wednesday 21 February sees the return of our Big Action Day. With your help we’ll be transforming spaces across Fallowfield and Withington!

We’ll be based at St Chad’s Church working on their community orchard, wildlife garden and community hall. And we’ll be joining forces with the Friends of Ladybarn Park to give some of their spaces a face lift ready for spring!

You can pop by for an hour or join us for the whole day – why not come with your coursemates, housemates or society?

Sign up here to get more information and to let us know you’re coming, or you can just turn up on the day.

There will be events happening across campus throughout Student Volunteering Week – keep an eye on our social media channels (@UoMVolunteering) to find out where you can access face-to-face information about volunteering, support with finding the right opportunity, and free tea and coffee! There’ll also be specific international volunteering information sessions happening, so if you’re looking for advice on volunteering abroad this is a great chance to get your questions answered.

Check out our website for more information on volunteering and to look for current opportunities.
