Celebrating Social Responsibility at the University of Manchester with the Volunteer of the Year Awards 2018.
Every year the University celebrates the actions of students, staff and alumni who give their time and commitment to communities locally, nationally and internationally through the Volunteer of the Year Awards.
If you know of a fellow student, alumnus or member of staff who you think is worthy of a Volunteer of the Year Award, why not nominate them or yourself for this prestigious award?
The closing date for award nominations is Monday 5 March at 9am and these fall into three categories:
- Student of the Year: Open to any current University of Manchester undergraduate or postgraduate students. This award is in association with the University of Manchester Students’ Union.
- Staff of the Year: Open to any current staff member of the University.
- Alumni of the Year: Open to any graduate of the University of Manchester (including Victoria University and UMIST).
Each winner receives a cash prize for their organisation – £300 for the overall winner and £200 and £100 for the 2nd and 3rd place runners up. In addition, the overall winner in each category is put forward for the University’s prestigious Medal for Social Responsibility.
To be eligible for these awards, the activities must address disadvantaged groups of deprived communities. Nominations should also not be for work that is part of a nominee’s job, but to be over and above what is expected.
If you’d like to enter or nominate a friend, staff member or alumnus for the Social Responsibility and Volunteer of the Year Award, please make a nomination. The nomination form is short and easy to complete and the closing date is Monday 5 March at 9am. For more information about the Volunteer of the Year, click here.
