Careers Future Open Day

PhD or job? Considering your options this October and November

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Although it might seem like you’ve only just started your masters, now is a great time to explore your future options. Whether you know what you want or you’re just beginning to think about it,  throughout October and November there are a number of events where you can get all your questions answered.

1. Careers fairs

The Careers service is hosting two careers fairs, giving you a chance to talk to a wide range of employers – and if you are already thinking of a graduate scheme many of schemes are already open.

The Little Careers Fair – Wednesday 3 October, 10am – 4pm

The Big Careers Fair – Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 October, 10.30am -4pm

2. Postgraduate Research programmes Open Day

On 24 October the University is holding its Postgraduate Research programmes Open Day to help you discover more about staying in Manchester for your PhD. Whatever your subject or particular area of interest, the open day will give you an insight into the broad range of postgraduate research opportunities available. University staff and current postgraduate students will be on hand throughout the day to give you information about the admissions process, funding arrangements and the support available to you as a postgraduate research student at The University of Manchester.

3. Postgraduate Study Fair

Then, on Wednesday 14th November you will be able to find out about what’s available at other institutions by visiting the Postgraduate Study Fair  at Manchester Central where over 90 institutions will be exhibiting.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to be certain about what you want to do –  but by exploring these events you’ll start gathering the information you need to make an informed decision.
