Career Support

Found a work experience opportunity but struggling to fund it? The Careers Service bursary scheme can help!

Found an incredible work experience opportunity but concerned about travel costs? Or are you struggling to afford the accommodation you’ll need to pay for?

The Careers Service is pleased to offer its Work Experience Bursary Scheme for 2019 which is aimed at current full-time undergraduate students to help support with work experience activities.

Alice, who was in her second year during her work experience, worked at Healthwatch Trafford

Often students find their own work experience opportunity but struggle to cover the associated costs. This is where the Careers Service can help! The experience undertaken can be part-time (i.e. during term time) or full-time if undertaken during the summer or Easter holiday periods.

You can apply for up to £250 or £1000 depending on your circumstance. The award can be used to help towards costs of travel, accommodation and/or dependent care costs whilst undertaking the work experience.

Bursaries are awarded on a monthly basis until the funds have been allocated for this academic year. Full terms and conditions plus the application form are available on our website.
