Congratulations to our Purple Wave Runners!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Congratulations to all our students, staff and alumni – including our Chancellor Lemn Sissay who ran the Manchester 10k this weekend. A wave of purple took over the city with hundreds of students running, and many raising money for some great causes including the University’s scholarship fund.

There was also a magnificent wave of support at the UoM Wall of Sound with staff and students cheering runners on, and giving everyone a boost. The event was fantastic with a brilliant atmosphere and almost perfect weather for a Sunday run. A massive congratulations to all involved. (Even Barnabee got in on the action).

Missed out on the 10k this year? Or been inspired by the Purple t-shirts? There’s plenty of Sport to get involved with at the University, whether its playing for a sports team, joining a society, or taking some of the Be Active classes. To find out more about the Purple Wave and what else you can get involved with (even over this summer) visit the Sporticipate website.
