Staying in Manchester over the summer? Whether you’re staying to study, for a summer job, or because you want to experience Manchester in the sunnier months – here’s a list of what’s open (and closed) on campus over the summer.
The Main Library will be open from 8am to 7pm Monday to Fridays (except the August Monday Bank Holiday), and 9am – 5pm on a Saturday, until 13 September 2018.
The Alan Gilbert Learning Commons 24/7 opening finishes on Friday 7 June at 9pm, and slightly shorter hours will occur over the summer:
|Saturday 8 July – Wednesday 31 July||Monday – Friday||9am-9pm|
|Wednesday 1 August – Friday 14 September||Monday – Sunday||9am – midnight|
A list of opening dates for other libraries and computer clusters throughout the campus is available on the Libraries website. You could take the advantage of the quieter summer months to discover some new revision spots across campus.
If you’d like a more relaxed environment to catch up on some reading or your work, the Atrium on the 1st floor of University Place will be open from 10am-4pm over the vacation period (excluding holidays). The Careers Service will also be open during this time.
The Counselling Service offers one to one appointments with a counsellor if you need someone to speak to about whatever is causing you difficulty. This will be available as always from 9am – 4pm, Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays. Check their website for more information or phone them on 0161 275 2864.
Looking for a bite to eat? Some of the cafes and restaurants around campus will be operating shorter opening hours or closing for the summer months. Keep your eye on the FoodOnCampus website where they’ll shortly be posting their summer opening hours.
