Don’t be a fool ghoul this Halloween!
As Halloween approaches, please remember to respect your local, wider community. Fallowfield and Withington are also home to long term residents, including families and the elderly, as well as students. Just because you haven’t met them doesn’t mean they do not exist. Plus, there will be others who do not (want to) celebrate Halloween, including some of your fellow students – please be mindful of their choice.
Please keep the noise down when at home, and when leaving your home, do remember that others around you might have already gone to sleep.
When out and about, please remember that Halloween is also a celebration for smaller children. Although smaller children might be dressed to scare in their costumes, they might in fact be a little scared of you! Please act respectfully when out of the house.
You also need to stay safe when out and about. As the clocks go back, this means there’ll be less daylight. Please remember to keep to lit streets and do not take dark alleyways when en route to your destination.
Finally, if you’re going to dress up, please choose your outfit with consideration and respect for your fellow students and neighbours.
If there are any issues with disturbances in your community, please ring Manchester City Council’s Licensing and Out of Hours Team on 0161 234 5004.
