We all know that volunteering is great for you – it’s great for your CV, it’s a great way to meet new people and perhaps most importantly a great way to give something back.
But what if you’re short on time – we know it’s difficult to juggling studying with other commitments, or what if you don’t know what kind of thing you’d like to do or what if you’re just not sure volunteering is for you?
That’s where volunteer days come in! Single day projects run by the volunteering team. No experience needed and no long term commitment. Just give a few hours on a single day and see how you get on. What have you got to lose? And there’s three this month – so why not give one a go?
Help City of Trees to plant trees at a greenspace at the end of Warwick Road in Failsworth to move them towards their goal of planting 3 million trees- one for every person in Manchester. Transport from University will be provided.
Volunteer alongside St Chad’s Church’s lovely Green Group and help to spruce up its community orchard and wildlife garden.
This is a fundraising Volunteer Day for Emmeline’s Pantry and will take place at the ASDA Hulme. Volunteer alongside University staff at the checkouts asking if people would like their groceries packed for them by you in exchange for a small donation. Not only will you be raising vital funds for Emmeline’s Pantry, you’ll be helping to raise awareness of the organisation in the local community.
It’s a few hours of your time, it could really help… and you might have fun! Find out more about volunteering and volunteer days.
