Business is booming in the North West as many graduates choose to stay in Manchester following graduation. The new LEO (Longitudinal Educational Outcomes) data published by the Department for Education in January this year shows that following graduation students from the University of Manchester choose to stay and work in the North West even up to five years after graduation.

Despite the perception that all the good graduate jobs can only be found in London, the LEO data highlights that the North West offers plenty of great opportunities for graduates and young professionals, with the region being the most popular destination for Manchester graduates.

Following the publishing of this data the University of Manchester was also once again named as the most targeted university by the UK’s top 100 graduate employers. The annual independent review of graduate vacancies and starting salaries at the UKs leading employers, The Graduate Market in 2020, has ranked the University of Manchester as most popular amongst employers for the third year running, and Manchester is the University of choice for the UK’s top employers to find the best graduates. So business is booming in the North West!
