Share your feedback on the University’s core goal and theme draft plans

Reading Time: 2 minutes

You may remember back in January that the University lauched its new vision and strategic plan, Our Future.

The ambitious long-term vision, and our values, will take us into our third century and describe the future we want. The strategic plan sets our University priorities for the first five years of our journey towards the vision and it is a blend of new and existing projects. This is built around the existing three core goals – research and discovery, teaching and learning, and social responsibility – and four new themes – our people, our values; innovation; civic engagement; and global influence.

We are now at a stage where we can begin to share the draft plans for our three core goals and four themes. Each of these presents the priorities described in the strategic plan, but in more detail.

Over the next few days the draft plans are being added along with a survey for you to feedback. You can currently provide feedback on Our people, our values, teaching and learning, and social responsibility.

We would like to hear your views on whether there is anything missing from these plans, and specific activities that we can stop doing to free up resource so that we can realise our ambitions.

Teaching and learning

For the core goal of teaching and learning, we will teach and learn in an inclusive and supportive blended-learning context that encourages us to aim high, take intellectual risks, and benefit from our research-intensive environment. We have high expectations of ourselves, and of our bold, entrepreneurial and resourceful graduates.

Our people, our values

Our people, the core of which are our staff and students, and our values are at the heart of our strategic plan. From life-saving research to life-changing teaching, from gold medals to green spaces, everything we do has people, our students, colleagues and alumni, at its heart.

You can read the full draft plan here: draft theme plan.
