Whether you’re entering your final year knowing what you want to do, or still exploring your options, this semester is the perfect time to get some insight into different sectors and industries out there.
With how uncertain things are in the world right now, we know it’s difficult to plan anything, but don’t let the end of your studies creep up on you without giving some thought as to what you want to do next. Jobs are still out there and many recruiters advertise jobs a year in advance, so applications are opening for jobs that won’t start until you’ve finished your degree. Many employers only attend events once a year and this tends to be in the autumn, so it’s best to start early when it comes to preparing for your future.
Which is why throughout October our Careers fairs will be packed out with a range of exhibitors and organisations on hand to give you any of the information you need to take the next step in thinking about your career.
Future Fortnight – Monday 19 October – Friday, 30 October

The fairs are packed out with a range of exhibitors and organisations on hand to give you any of the information you need to take the next step in thinking about your career. Many employers open applications for their competitive programmes and schemes early, and so attending these fairs is the best way to get a head start when it comes to thinking about what employers are looking for, and what the application process entails.
You’ll probably find that many employers send recent graduates to represent them at Careers Fairs, and so it’s the perfect place to get first-hand insight into the roles on offer and the application process. Be sure to ask lots of questions – they’re the best people to get the answers from!
And if you’re thinking that you might like to continue with your studies, in November we have both the Postgraduate virtual open week, The University of Manchester, where you can find find out about Masters-level courses available here at the University, and also the Careers Service Virtual Postgraduate study fair where you can meet other Universities to explore your postgraduate study options,
