Watch back our open meeting for students and offer holders

Reading Time: < 1 minute

If you were unable to join the open meeting on Wednesday 14 October with our panel of senior colleagues taking your questions, you can now watch this back online.

The panel discussed the position in Manchester with respect to COVID-19, our response to this as an organisation and the support that we are providing for all our students. The panel also answered many questions from students – both those that were pre-submitted and those that were asked on the day.

The event was led by Professor Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility; and Professor April McMahon, Vice-President for Teaching, Learning and Students.

Nalin has been leading on our campus response to the pandemic, working with senior colleagues and world-leading academics from across the University. April, alongside Faculty colleagues, has been leading on our teaching and learning response to the pandemic, including developing our blended, flexible teaching model.

They were also joined by Dr Simon Merrywest, Director for the Student Experience, Ben Ward, Chief Executive of the Students’ Union, and Richard Cotton, Director of International Development, and teaching and learning colleagues from each of the three Faculties.

Please note that this event was recorded prior to Greater Manchester moving to the ‘very high’ local COVID alert level, so any guidance given on local restrictions in place were correct at the time of the event however; may since have changed.
