We know many of you are working hard to keep yourselves, your housemates, friends and neighbours safe during this difficult time. Thank you!
To help you to understand more about the virus and how to keep yourself and others safe, we’ve produced a new COVID-19 awareness course in conjunction with public health experts from our Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health and our colleagues from the Students Union.
It explains the latest knowledge on COVID-19 and how it spreads, as well as what you can do to help slow the spread of the virus, and tips to help you follow Government recommendations and restrictions. It also details the help and support available to you at the University should you be affected by COVID-19 (for example, if you have to self-isolate).
The course is called ‘COVID19 Health & Safety’ and we’d strongly encourage you to complete it. Our best defence against the spread of COVID-19 is for everyone to be well-informed and aware of how to keep themselves, and the people they have contact with, safe.
It will be available in Blackboard from Friday 30 October, in the ‘My Communities’ section of your course listing. To complete the course, you’ll need to work through all the content – skipping to the quiz at the end won’t count as a completion. It should take you about 40 minutes.
Don’t forget that if you’re self-isolating, are symptomatic or have tested positive for COVID-19, you should report this to the University. This will help us support you and take any necessary safety precautions.
Thank you once again for all that you are doing – we see and appreciate all the efforts you’re making to protect yourselves, our staff and the wider community.
