A reminder of the new Tier 3 restrictions

Reading Time: < 1 minute

As the national lockdown comes to an end and Manchester moves to the new Tier 3: Very High alert level restrictions, we wanted to remind all students of the rules now in place.

Traditionally this would be a time of parties and gatherings as part of the festive season, but this isn’t possible at the current time. Please do not be tempted to host or attend any parties in Halls or houses. Under Tier 3 restrictions it is illegal to meet indoors with people who are not in your household or support bubble.

There will be increased police presence in the general Fallowfield area from this evening, so should any incidents be reported the police will be positioned to respond.

Fixed Penalty Notices can be issued to anyone found to be breaking the rules. You can be given a fixed penalty notice of £200 for the first offence, doubling for further offences up to a maximum of £6,400. If you hold, or are involved in holding, an illegal gathering of over 30 people, the police can issue fines of £10,000.

Between 23-27 December you may form a Christmas bubble with wider friends and family from up to three households, for that five day period only.
