Alan Gilbert Learning Commons

The Alan Gilbert Learning Commons will be open for the whole Christmas break, other than Christmas Day and Boxing Day. It will be open Monday – Friday (9am-8pm), and Saturday/Sunday (10am-4pm). You can book a study space at the AGLC here.

Other Library sites, study spaces and services

All other Library sites, study spaces and services will be closed from 19 December 2020 – 3 January 2021. Find out full details here.

Assessment support

You can access online assessment support resources from the Library over Christmas.

Other services

IT Support

While the IT Support Centre will be closing from 5pm on 18 December, you can still access 24/7 IT support by calling them on 0161 306 5544. You can also search their IT Support Portal and Knowledge Base for step-by-step guides and troubleshooting articles.

The Counselling Service

The Counselling and Mental Health Service will be available 21 to 23 December to offer support to those who need it. You can contact the service by email counselling.service@manchester.ac.uk and request an email response or for someone to call you back on a phone number you provide.

We have also launched a new 24/7 mental health support phone line and app, which means there is always someone available to offer support – whatever time of day or night.

If you need help in a crisis, there are lots of services available which you can access – whether that’s in an emergency or when you may need to talk to someone (either in person or on the phone).
