Reading Time: < 1 minute

If you’re in Manchester over Christmas and would like to try something new or connect with the local community, then why not think about volunteering?

There are lots of different reasons why people volunteer; to give back, to make new friends, to support the local community, to show commitment to a cause they care about or to develop new skills for the future, or just because they enjoy doing it. And over the festive period, there are so many ways you can help.

The volunteering team have put together information for students wanting to volunteer in Manchester over Christmas. And even if you don’t feel able to physically go out due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are plenty of opportunities you can get involved in from the safety of your own home.

The great thing about volunteering is that you can do it anytime, and fit it around university, work and your social life. Whether it’s something you choose to do regularly, or more sporadically as and when you have time, there are lots of different ways to volunteer. So if you’ve ever wondered if volunteering is for you, this could be the perfect time to try!
