Insight Conference: exclusive careers event for first year

Reading Time: < 1 minute

When first starting University there’s so much information to take on board and so many things you can get involved in, sometimes it can be overwhelming. Added to that starting University during a pandemic there’s been even more to process.

Now we’ve moved into the second semester you might feel a little more settled (as much as you can) and you might be starting to think about things outside of your academics. Thinking about things like gaining work experience or taking time to explore potentially Careers. Although you still have plenty of time before you graduate, it’s never too early to start looking at what’s out there. Even if it’s just to dip your toe in. To help you make a start the Careers Service is hosting a brand new event just for first years.

The First Insights Conference is a new, online event exclusively for first year undergraduates .

Taking place on Wednesday, 24 March 2021 (1-5pm), the event will give you an insight into three different sectors of your choice.

You will meet employers from the sectors you are interested in and take part in an interactive activity.

By attending the event, you will get an insight into different sectors and roles, network with employers and learn what you can do during your time at university to boost your employability after you finish your degree.

Register before Monday, 15 March by filling out the short survey letting us know which sectors you want to find out more about: bit.ly/firstinsightsconference
