Library services available on campus over summer

Opening hours and service availability (Updated 14th June 2021)

As we are able to, we are opening more services and study spaces for students to access. As well as spaces in open library sites, some central teaching rooms are available for booking. There are also Faculty-specific spaces available.

If you are using these spaces, for your own and others safety, please remember to comply with all COVID guidelines as directed for the building you are in.

Library services and study spaces over summer

From Monday 14th June you do not need to book Library study spaces – spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Main Library: 9am-8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am – 5pm Saturday and Sunday

  • 468 study spaces 
  • 133 PC spaces
  • 14 study spaces for interactive online learning 
  • Printing, photocopying and scanning
  • Access to book stock in person and via Click and Collect

Alan Gilbert Learning Commons: 9am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday

  • 113 study spaces
  • 30 study spaces for interactive online learning
  • 181 PC spaces
  • Printing, photocopying and scanning

Eddie Davies Library (AMBS students only): Available when the AMBS building is open

  • 10 study spaces
  • 39 PC spaces
  • Printing, photocopying and scanning
  • Access to book stock in person and via Click and Collect
  • Finance Zone providing access to the Bloomberg, Eikon, Datastream, SDC Platinum and Capital IQ databases and relevant statistical software. Access is either remotely or on socially distanced PCs, see the Specialist Library Service for further details

Click and collect service

You can use the Click and collect service to access physical resources from some Library sites.

You can book a study space via the Library website and check the service availability page for the most up to date service information, including information on special collections bookings, which are now available for researchers at Main Library and John Rylands Research Institute and Library.
