Volunteer days are back!

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The volunteering team are working with two local projects to offer a series of volunteer days throughout May and June – do you have a few hours to spare?

What is a volunteer day?

We all know that volunteering is great for you – it’s great for your CV, it can be a great way to meet people and perhaps most importantly a way to give something back. But what if you’re short on time – especially at this time of year – or what if you don’t know what kind of thing you’d like to do, or what if you’re just not sure volunteering is for you?

That’s where volunteer days come in! Single day opportunities. No experience needed and no long term commitment. Just give a few hours on a single day to give a bit back to the community, meet new people and see how you get on.

Here’s what’s on offer over the next couple of weeks:

Gardening at The Firs Botanical Gardens

Friday 18 June
Friday 25 June

The University of Manchester Botanical Gardens in Fallowfield (also known as “The Firs”), once part of the estate of Sir Joseph Whitworth, is situated between the Owen’s Park student halls and the Armitage Centre.

The site needs some work to bring it back to its former glory and towards the goal of being an amazing space for community outreach and teaching.
