On Thursday 17 June the University of Manchester will be hosting the Postgraduate Researcher’s Conference.
Most researchers are driven by the hope that their research will make a difference and have some impact on the world. This conference will give postgraduate researchers the opportunity to learn skills and receive tips on how you can communicate, promote and engage others with your research through a series of interactive workshops.
Attendees will hear from special guest speaker Professor Inger Mewburn, better known as The Thesis Whisperer. Inger will talk about academic writing after COVID-19, discussing common writing blocks and her strategies to overcome them. Professor Colette Fagan, Vice President Research and Professor Melissa Westwood, Associate Vice President Research, are also both confirmed to be speaking at the event.
The Pathways panel of former doctoral researchers will share their real life stories, showing you how they made that transition, either before or during these difficult times.
There will also be an opportunity to watch this year’s Three Minute Thesis winners’ presentations and find out who the Manchester Doctoral College (MDC) Excellence Award winners are.
The free event is open to postgraduate researchers from all Faculties.
