PGR Development: supporting you every step of the way

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Your postgraduate research journey is about more than your thesis; developing personal and professional skills is an important part of being a postgraduate researcher.  We’re committed to your development and we want you to be too.  That’s why we’ve put together a a statement of expectations on PGR training and development that outlines what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

Researcher development training is designed to help you develop the skills needed to undertake focused research, to write up and present your work, and it will also support you in developing your research career and exploring your options outside of academia. Accessing and attending training and other development opportunities is also a great way to meet researchers from different schools and disciplines.

Your training should be tailored to you and your needs and devised in consultation with your supervisor and reviewed on a regular basis.  The Faculty Researcher Development teams, University Library and Careers Service offer an extensive range of training, events, resources and individual support to equip you with the skills to complete your research degree and will help you in achieving your personal and professional development goals.
