Making a Difference Awards 2022 – annual awards open for entries

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We pride ourselves on the incredible and passionate work of our students. We know you are making your mark and achieving extraordinary things. Now is your opportunity to tell us about them…

Each year we invite our University community to enter our Making a Difference Awards. We have eight categories which acknowledge the positive impact our students, staff, alumni and external partners are making to society and the environment.

Successful entrants will be invited to an awards ceremony, presented by our Chancellor Lemn Sissay. The Awards offer a platform for entrants to raise awareness of their work and celebrate their impressive accomplishments.

If you or someone you know has made a difference, enter now!

The deadline for entries is 17 January 2022.

Last year’s student winners include a campaign that empowered individuals of African-Caribbean descent through a programme of creative, positive imagery; a research project investigating worker-driven social responsibility for human rights; a widening participation scheme helping disadvantaged sixth-form students with their applications to dental school, and many more.

Take a look at our previous winners and highly commended recipients over the past seven years to see how receiving a Making a Difference Award has given them a boost to continue tackling issues they feel passionate about, shone a spotlight on the impact of their work and inspired further funding opportunities.

All shortlisted nominees will be invited to a high-profile awards ceremony in May 2022 to receive their award and recognise their commitment and dedication.
