Updated exams guidance

Reading Time: < 1 minute

On Wednesday 19 Jan, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed that most Plan B measures introduced in December will expire on 26 January.

For the duration of the exam period our safety control measures for on-campus examinations will remain in place, and you must continue to wear a face mask during in-person exams unless you have an exemption approved by Occupational Health

You must also continue to take a Lateral Flow Test within the 24-hour period before coming on-campus for an examination. Be prepared to show proof of the result via email or the NHS app. If you cannot sit an in-person exam due to a positive test, you should submit a mitigating circumstances application with proof of the test result as soon as possible.

If you’re sitting an exam online off-campus, you should test twice a week as normal. If you test positive at any time during the exam period, you can continue to complete the exam if you feel well enough. If you feel unwell and are unable to continue with the exam, please submit a mitigating circumstances application as soon as possible.

We are currently reviewing the new Department for Education guidance and discussing our COVID-secure measures with Manchester’s Director of Public Health, David Regan. We will update you by the end of next week.
