Upcoming IT maintenance will cause disruption to network access.
IT Services need to replace essential equipment in the University’s data centres, and as a result, there will be disruption to network connectivity on the evenings of Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 February, from 7pm.
We’re expecting services to be unavailable between 7pm and 9pm GMT on both evenings, however please allow up to 11pm for the work to complete.
This will affect access to all network connected services, including (but not limited to) the wired and Wi-Fi networks, My Manchester, IT login, GlobalProtect VPN, Remote access and University websites.
Colleagues will be onsite throughout and after the work to ensure services return as expected – thank you for bearing with us while this essential upgrade takes place.
Further work affecting network connectivity is scheduled for later in the month, however we’ll post reminders closer to the time, and the disruption caused by that work should take less time.
