Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Alumni team pleased to be hosting an online panel event on Wednesday 9 March 2022, 12pm-12:50pm to celebrate International Women’s Day, and all students are invited to join the discussion!

The event will focus on this year’s theme – #BreakThe Bias.

#BreakTheBias is the start for a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination; one that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. Difference is valued and celebrated.

We are all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day and we can break the bias in our communities, our workplaces, our schools, colleges and universities. Together, we can all break the bias – on International Women’s Day and beyond.

The questions posed to the panel will bring these points to the forefront and you will have the chance to ask your own questions of panel on how we can #BreakTheBias.

The panel will be hosted by Melody Stephen, General Secretary of the Student Union. Joining the panel will be Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice-Chancellor of The University of Manchester; Professor Amel Alghrani, alumna and Professor in Law at the University of Liverpool; Shalni Arora, CEO of Savannah Wisdom; and Grace Harvey, British Para-swimmer and current biology student.
