Microsoft 365 temporary licensing issue – Resolved

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Update: Tuesday 13 September, 10.30am

The licensing issue for students is now resolved with Microsoft and IT Services are in the process of assigning M365 licences to students awaiting one. Once your account has been allocated a M365 licence you will be able to login to M365 services (University email, Microsoft Teams, other Office 365 applications) shortly after.

We are still unable to issue new M365 licences for staff, however it is hoped this will also be resolved later today.

Monday 12 September

IT Services are currently unable to assign new Microsoft 365 (M365) licences to a number of student IT accounts. If you’re affected you won’t be able to access University email via Outlook, use Microsoft Teams, or other Office 365 applications.

Access to Blackboard and My Manchester is unaffected.

We are continuing to work with Microsoft to resolve the issue, at which point we will be able to assign licences again. We are hopeful this will be in the next few days.

Affected students do not need to do anything – licences will be assigned as quickly as possible once the issue is resolved. We will post any updates here as we have them.
