We recognise that there are conflicts and upheavals around the world that deeply affect members of our community, whether staff or students.
We understand that you or your friends and family may be directly affected by tragedies such as the ongoing war in Ukraine or the terrible situation in Iran in response to the death of Masha Amini.
Our thoughts are with all those affected, and we would like to emphasise the support available to anyone who may be impacted.
Please remember that we are here to support you, at all times.
If you are concerned about the impact of the situation on your mental health and wellbeing, you can reach out to a range of services (including some that are available 24/7) through the Student Support website and the Students’ Union Advice Centre.
Should you be worried about any impact on your studies, we have our mitigating circumstances procedure for taught students and support for changes of circumstances for postgraduate researchers.
Above all please take care, and do reach out to speak to your Academic Advisor/Supervisor or one of our services at any time.
Kind regards,
Simon Merrywest, Director for the Student Experience
