Employers on campus this month

The Careers Service have a range of employers on campus this month, and they’re a great chance for you to discover more about the companies, the sectors and the type of of career opportunities available – some might surprise you – so it’s always worth a chat if you’re looking at your options.

1.     Step up and Shine with NatWest

Thursday 20th October, 10am – 4pm University Place Square

The NatWest recruitment team will be available to speak to you about their graduate and internship programmes and even have the opportunity to take a skills quiz. Grab a coffee from the coffee cart whilst you are there.

You can either pop along on the day or book a 121 slot if you know what time you will be available. Scroll down the dropdown list to get to the University of Manchester slots.

2.     Recruiter in Residence – Vodafone

Thursday 20 October, 11am – 3pm The Atrium, 1st floor, University Place

Part of the new Recruiter in Residence programme and open to all students, this is your chance to meet recruiters from Vodafone and find out about their graduate jobs and student placements. This is a great opportunity to sit down one-to-one with them in this informal, relaxed environment and gain an insight in to what a leading graduate recruiter looks for in a potential candidate and receive hints and tips for a successful application. 

You might also want to speak to them about their selection processes, their company culture, what a typical day would entail, or even find out more about their sector as a whole. It may open up a career path /options that you were previously unaware of, or had even considered!

The insights you gain could be applied to other career opportunities and it is a great way to build your confidence when talking with a graduate recruiter. There is no need to book a slot in advance. Simply come along to The Atrium, 1st floor, University Place any time between 11am – 3pm where Vodafone will be waiting and looking forward to meeting you. 

3.     UK Jet Programme Presentation
Friday 21 October, 2pm – 3pm
Room 2.2, Roscoe Building

Find out more about The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme which gives you the opportunity to live and work in Japan. It is an official Japanese government initiative, which aims to improve foreign language education in Japanese schools and promote international exchange at a grass-roots level.  Since 1987, the programme has placed over 10,000 UK graduates in positions throughout Japan. There are two types of position available for UK graduates on the JET Programme: Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) and Coordinator for International Relations (CIR). The presentation aims to provide aspiring JET applicants with an overview of our available opportunities and a thorough understanding of the application process.

4.     Siemens Energy
Monday 24 October, 12pm – 1.30pm
Room 1.009, Roscoe Building

This lunch and learn session will introduce you to what Siemens Energy does within the UK and explain some of the graduate and post-graduate positions available within our organisation.

5.       Deloitte Evening Presentation
Tuesday 25 October, 6pm – 8pm
Room A113, Samuel Alexander Building

At this one-off, sought-after event you will have the chance to discover more about life at Deloitte directly from our people. You’ll learn about our career opportunities and culture from our Senior Speaker, as well as gain a detailed insight into our application process from our Early Careers Advisor.

6.       Recruiter in Residence – BNY Mellon
