Research Explorer update: All you need to know

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The upgrade to Research Explorer, the University’s research profile platform, is scheduled to take place between the 10th and 14th November. During this period, you may notice some temporary degradation on Research Explorer whilst the upgrade is configured. We hope to minimise this disruption as much as possible.

If you have not yet had an opportunity to review your new PGR researcher profile, the preview environment is still available – if you would like details on how to access this please contact us using the details below.

Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback to date, we have compiled a selection of feedback into our You Said, We Did presentation.

What do I need to do?

PGRs do not need to take any action as part of the upgrade. Your profile will automatically be updated, and your existing data will be transferred. You can continue to manage your research profile as you do now.

You may wish however, to use this opportunity to review your existing profile and ensure it is up to date and/or review the updated training and guidance materials on the Pure website which covers the new functionality available (including Fingerprinting and configuring the UN SDG tags).

What if I don’t have a profile yet?

PGRs can set up a new profile using the guidance on the Pure Support website. A best practice guide will be available at launch of the upgrade to support PGRs and researcher with creating a successful profile.

How can I access support for this upgrade?

New training and guidance materials will be available to users via the Pure Support website.

In addition, we are also hosting in-person drop-in sessions across campus. You can visit our pop-up stand at the following locations and dates where you are welcome to come along and ask any questions you may have.
