Essential maintenance will result in short network outages.
As you may be aware, we have experienced a number of IT issues recently which have caused disruption for our staff and students.
As a part of resolving the issues, we need to perform more work on Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 November which will cause network disruption for up to 5 minutes between 6pm and 6.15pm on both days.
This will temporarily affect access to services connected to the University network, including Wi-Fi, wired network access, email, GlobalProtect VPN, Blackboard, IT login, My Manchester, University websites and more.
While we appreciate that this is much shorter notice than we’d ideally like to give, the urgent nature of this work means it needs to be carried out as soon as possible, to work towards restoring stable IT services for our staff and students.
IT Services colleagues will be closely monitoring the network during and after the work, to ensure all services return as expected.
