Reading Time: 2 minutes

Celebrate the longest month of the year being over by planning your February! There are so many great events happening across the city and we’ve highlighted a couple of our favourites below.

Try something new

Is your new year’s resolution to make more friends? If so, Girl Gang Manchester have got you sorted with their popular Speed Mate-ing event. A relaxed and friendly way to meet new people, make some new pals and get out and about in the city.

Want to explore a new night out? Ultimate Power returns to Manchester at the end of the month – expect lots of power ballads, inflatables, and fun! Looking for something a little bigger? La Discothèque guarantees a good time with influences from Studio 54 to all things glitter and glam.

Sober-curious? Feel Good Club have got your covered with a masterclass about making alcohol-free cocktails. Part of their Sober Season, check out their Instagram to stay up to date with what’s happening at the club.

Sporticipate, a free beginner sports programme that enables students and staff to experience different sports in a fun and secure setting, is also now up and running for Semester 2 if you’re looking for something active this semester. Find out more by visiting our Sporticipate web page.

UoM Sport are also running a Girls’ Night In event on 7 February for anyone who identifies as female. This free event brings females together in a welcoming setting so they can get active without any obstacles. We offer access to the gym, recreational activities, fitness classes, and sport tasters across the Armitage Centre.

Get your culture fix

Manchester Museum is reopening on 18 February with a new exhibition about the Golden Mummies of Egypt. Based on Oxford Road and free to visit, why not pop in during a study break to grab a coffee and take a look around.

Not been to Whitworth Art Gallery yet? Based at the top of Oxford Road it’s well worth a visit. This month there are several exhibitions to explore, including (Un)Defining Queer and Althea McNish: Colour is Mine. Plus it boasts one of the best café’s on Oxford Road!

Contact are spoiling us this month with so many amazing events happening. This includes Queer Contact with loads of performances celebrating LGBTQ+ culture like House of Suarez’s Disco Ball, The Cocoa Butter Club’s cabaret celebrating Queer performers of colour and lots of workshops to get involved in.
