The Postgraduate Summer Research Showcase returns on June 15th for an 8th year.
The University of Manchester’s Postgraduate Summer Research Showcase (PSRS) is back this summer and is a unique opportunity to network, showcase and present your research to your peers and academic and professional staff from across the University.
And there are two ways you can get involved!
Poster Presentations ( open to postgraduate researchers)
Academic poster presentations allow you to communicate your work in a way can be tailored to each visitor, no matter their level of expertise. From specialists familiar in the subject area, to people simply curious to know more, a poster can be the starting point for some very insightful conversations.
The showcase offers you a supportive environment to practice presentation skills, build a new poster or present a previous one and gain invaluable feedback from both academic and non-academic judges.
For more information about poster presentations, where to start and the requirements for the showcase see the poster section of the PSRS website,
This year, there are prizes of £350 up for grabs. You need to register for the poster showcase on or before Monday 8th May 2023 on the PSRS website.
Please note, if you need us to print your poster you will need to submit a digital version by Monday, 22 May – instructions will be provided upon registration. Alternatively you can print your own poster or use one you already have printed.
Image Competition (open to all postgraduate students)
In addition to poster presentations, the event will also feature the “Research in action” image competition open to all postgraduates (taught and research).
Presenting your research as a single image offers a different way of engaging people in your research. By stripping away all the technical language and leaving behind the core question of your research, you can highlight its overall impact without having to explain all the technical details.
The photo must represent the research and its impact, or potential impact, whether that is at the individual, local, national or international level.
Find out more about presenting your research this way on the image section of the PSRS website.
The winner of this year’s image competition will take away a prize of £150. You need to upload your ’ image by on or before Monday 8th May 2023 on the PSRS website.
