If you’re staying on campus over the Easter break, this could be a great time to get started on revision and to catch-up on all the assignments you have to do, as campus is a little quieter.
With that in mind, here’s a full list of what’s open (and closed) over Easter to help you plan your time.
The Main Library will be open from 8am to 12am on weekdays and 9am to 12am on weekends until 16 April. It will also closed 7-10 April.
The Alan Gilbert Learning Commons will stay open 24/7 over the Easter break with slightly shorter hours over the Easter weekend:
- Friday 7 April – 12am to 8pm
- Saturday 8 April – 9am to 5pm
- Sunday 9 April – 9am to 5pm
- Monday 10 April – 8am to 8pm
- Tuesday 11 April – 8am to 12am
A list of opening dates for other libraries and computer clusters throughout the campus is available online.
If you’d like a more relaxed environment to catch up on your work, or if you’d like to use the Careers Service, The Atrium on the first floor of University Place will be open from 10-4pm over the vacation excluding bank holidays.
The Armitage Centre and The Sugden Sports Centre will be open as usual except over the 7-10 April for the Easter holiday weekend.
The Aquatics Centre will be open with their reduced swimming hours throughout the break as part of their refurbishment, but will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
If you feel like you’d need some support and advice then check out the mental health and wellbeing support available to you. Whilst some services will have reduced hours over the Easter Break there will always be support available to you. This includes the Health Assured 24/7 helpline and app which you can access for free throughout the Easter break.
Food On Campus
Some of the cafés and restaurants around campus will be operating shorter opening hours or closing for the Easter break. You can find their Easter opening hours on their website. Here are some of the cafe’s open during the break. Please note all Food on Campus outlets will be closed over the Easter weekend.
The IT Support Centre is open until 5.00pm on Thursday, 6 April and will re-open at 8.00am on Tuesday, 11 April. In-person support desks will also re-open at their usual times on Tuesday, 11 April. If you have any IT queries between these dates, you can use the 24/7 phoneline or support portal, and the out-of-hours service desks will deal with most IT enquiries.
The Students’ Union
The Students’ Union open times will vary depending on the gigs and events taking place. Check the website for open times on specific days.
The Careers Desk will be closed over the Easter break (3-14 April) but we’re still open for support. Find Careers resources on-demand, 24/7, and online support services remain available.
