Following a re-ballot of its members, the University and College Union (UCU) has been granted an extension of its mandate to take industrial action until September 2023. The action is in relation to pay, pensions, and working conditions, and follows the recent strike action by UCU members earlier this year.
This means the union will have the authority to carry out industrial action for a longer period than initially planned. At this stage, we do not know what further industrial action UCU plans to take, but we will update you as soon as possible once we have more information.
As always, we will do everything we can to minimise any impact of strike action or action short of strike and are preparing mitigation measures to minimise any disruption.
