If, like me, you prefer to order a mocktail as opposed to a cocktail when you are on a night out, then this blog is for you. I wanted to create a piece that detailed ideas for socials that do not encompass alcoholic drinks.
1. Activity bars
A good way to enjoy a night out without alcohol is to ensure there is an opportunity to partake in activities.
Twenty Twenty Two is located in the heart of the Norther Quarter and offers a lively and relaxed venue for an evening of partying and Ping-Pong; much more than the standard bar experience.
2. Live music events
Whether it’s a band at a bar or a concert at the 02, live music is the perfect way for everyone to enjoy themselves.
If you’re after a unique form of relaxing music, then Manchester’s candlelight concerts are your answer. Throughout the year you can feast your eyes and ears on beautiful candlelit performances by classical musicians, with tributes to chart topping hits and music from the movies. They take place at architectural gems, such as the Manchester Cathedral, which are illuminated by candlelight.
3. The theatre
Immerse yourself in the amazing atmosphere of Manchester’s theatres that have hosted some of the most popular Broadway shows, including; The lion King, Beauty & The Beast, Blood Brothers, and Wicked.
4. Outdoor activities
If you prefer to socialise whilst on the go then I highly recommend TreetopTrek, an aerial adventure park where you can swing, climb, balance, and fly. A great day out for a fearless adventurer!
If swinging from trees isn’t quite your style, then why not visit Trafford water sports Centre, where you can have some fun on the water or go for a scenic walk around the lake with friends.
5. Coffee & brunch dates
Coffee and brunch dates are a cheap and easy way to catch up with friends outside of the University Campus.
Hidden in the streets of the Northern Quarter are cosy independent cafes that provide a unique experience for diners, including; Takk, Fig & Sparrow, and Chapter One Books.
6. Art galleries & museums
Manchester is home to some of the most amazing museums and art galleries including the Science and industry Museum, The Manchester Museum, and The Whitworth Art Gallery.
Whatever your interest, Manchester is sure to have a museum or gallery that you can enjoy.
7. The cinema
Going to watch a film can be the perfect way to spend an evening with friends.
If you fancy going to a cinema with a difference, try the Everyman Cinema located in Salford Quays. Expect cosy sofas in each screening room as well as food and drink service to your seat.
