Making a difference in Rwanda: join the journey of our student volunteers!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Our fifteen Team Rwanda student volunteers landed in Kigali on Monday 24th July and made their way to Azizi Life for their exciting month of volunteering in beautiful sunny Rwanda!

They have been settling into their accommodation at the stunning new Azizi Life site in Ruhango, a small and relatively rural town a couple of hours from the capital Kigali. They have met their counterpart Rwandan volunteers, and after some in-country training, an Azizi Life Experience Day and trying some delicious local cuisine, they have been getting stuck into their projects. They are spending the month volunteering on community impact, storytelling and media, and enterprise development projects – all supporting Azizi Life’s works with artisans and their communities.

Prior to their departure, the students raised an impressive sum of over £3,000 for Azizi Life, which will be directed towards the organisation’s Adult Literacy and environmental projects. But their contributions don’t end there! The team has gone the extra mile by creating an engaging blog where they share their awe-inspiring stories and unforgettable experiences. By visiting uomteamrwanda.wordpress.com, you can witness Rwanda’s wonders through their eyes, as they provide personal reflections and showcase stunning photographs from their adventures.
