The Masood Entrepreneurship Centre (MEC) is a cross-discipline campus-wide teaching centre, offering opportunities to gain employability skills, explore your ideas or launch your own business.
MEC enables you to develop, and benefit from, entrepreneurial thinking, no matter your degree subject. Studying entrepreneurship equips you with skills to identify opportunities and generate innovative and creative ideas to solve problems in any setting.
Whether you are an undergraduate, postgraduate or researcher, we have activities for you to get involved with:
We offer taught units in both Semesters for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Units are open to all students who have open electives within their degree programme. You can check out our units here.
Throughout the year, we run workshops, events and competitions, such as the MECItHappen workshop series (book your place now) and the Bright Ideas competition (currently open for applications). Next month sees applications open for our annual Venture Further Awards, featuring a total prize fund of £100,000!
If you are passionate about entrepreneurship, why not become an Entrepreneurship Champion? This is a Stellify-accredited role for you to gain key career skills in areas such as social media management, events planning, project management and stakeholder relations.
Perhaps you are completing your PhD? With the Masood Entrepreneurship Centre, you can explore how entrepreneurship can increase the impact of your research. Read more here about our Entrepreneurship for Researchers programmes and events.
