Manchester Christmas Markets (till 22nd)

What would a December event guide be without a mention of the Christmas Markets? Go enjoy the famous Yorkshire wrap or a hot chocolate from one of their branded mugs. We’d recommend going in the day if you can, to avoid peak times, but either way, this will definitely get you in the festive spirit.

Lightwaves Festival (5th – 22nd)

This free, immersive light exhibition includes installations of all shapes and sizes, using light, sound and technology to create a mesmerizing walk around Media City. My favourite piece uses mists of water as a screen to project its video display. Well worth a visit.
