Heading to Parklife this weekend? Here’s what you need to know

This article contains references to alcohol, recreational drug use, spiking and personal safety.

Parklife is back this weekend and whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned festival-goer, here’s everything you need to stay safe, look after your mates and enjoy one of Manchester’s most iconic events.

Before you go 🎟️

  • Get your travel sorted: Grab a Parklife travel ticket. Single or weekend passes are available and include travel across all zones on the trams, Travel on Bee Network bus services and travel by shuttle bus between Lever Street (Manchester city centre) and Heaton Park
  • Download your ticket to your Apple or Google Wallet – don’t rely on phone signal at the gates.
  • Bring photo ID (passport, driving licence or Citizen Card). No ID = no entry.
  • Remember it’s a cashless site: Only cards and digital payments are accepted on-site.
  • Remember that liquids aren’t allowed (except water in a 500ml clear bottle).
  • Pack your sunscreen (under 200ml in the original container) and bring clothes for warm days and cooler nights.

While you’re there 🎧

  • Stick with your friends – out together, home together.
  • Make a meeting point in case you get separated.
  • Stay hydrated – you’re allowed to bring an empty 500ml clear water bottle on site to fill at the free water points.
  • Be a friendly face – check in on anyone who seems unwell and alert security if needed.
  • Need help? Visit the W.E.L.Safe tent next to the West Gate or speak to stewards/security.

Safety and security 👮

  • Expect security checks – be patient, they’re for your safety.
  • Report anything suspicious to staff. If it doesn’t feel right, say something.
  • Follow @TerrorismPolice and #BeSafeBeSound for live updates and advice.

Look out for each other

  • Call out creepy behaviour – don’t be a bystander
  • Think someone’s been spiked? Stay with them, alert venue staff and seek medical help.
  • Watch out for phone thieves – keep your valuables secure.

Drugs and alcohol 💊

  • Parklife is safer without drugs – but if you choose to take them take at look at our harm reduction advice before you head out, #GoSlowStayLow.
  • Be aware of imposter drugs and unexpected effects – dispose safely if something feels off.
  • Feeling anxious or overwhelmed? Find a welfare team member for support.

When you’re leaving 👋

  • Plan how you’re getting home in advance.
  • Getting picked up from Parklife? Sainsbury’s on Middleton Road is the official pick-up point, exit through the North Gate (Opposite The Valley).
  • Getting the bus home? Exit via North Gate, opposite The Valley stage.
  • Use licensed transport only – avoid unlicensed taxis.
