Imagine this: you’re in a PC cluster, ready to dive into your coursework, and every app you need is right there – fast, free, and ready to launch. That’s the power of AppsAnywhere, and this year, it’s better than ever.
What is AppsAnywhere?
AppsAnywhere is your portal to access the software applications you need for your studies. Whether you’re editing videos, crunching data, designing models, or writing essays, it’s available to stream on campus PCs.
What’s new for 2025/26?
Since launching last September, we’ve tripled the number of apps available to stream across all PC clusters on campus – from 32 to more than 100. That means more choice, more flexibility, and fewer barriers to getting your work done.
Starting this academic year, you’ll also be able to access some apps directly from your own laptop or PC – no need to trek to a PC cluster. Just log in to the AppsAnywhere portal and launch the apps you need, wherever you are in the UK.
More apps will be added throughout the year – so keep checking Connect for the latest updates to the list of which apps are available and where! (see link to the AppsAnywhere support page below)
Note: AppsAnywhere can be used on Windows devices only. If you’re using a Mac or Linux device, please see the AppsAnywhere support pages in Connect for information on how you can access the application you need.
Why you’ll love AppsAnywhere more than ever this year
- More apps in more locations: you’ll be spoilt for choice.
- Flexible access: Use some apps on your personal Windows device.
- Everything in one place: Just log in for the apps you need.
- Save time: Less waiting around for a PC in in a specific cluster location.
Where can you use It?
AppsAnywhere now works in three ways:
- AppsAnywhere | Any Cluster – more than 100 apps are available in all PC clusters across campus.
- AppsAnywhere | Local Cluster – certain apps are available in specific clusters only. When these are factored in, you have access to more than 300 apps on campus.
- AppsAnywhere | My Device – some apps are also available on your personal Windows laptop or PC.
