How would you like to spend next summer on a fully-funded internship in Canada? Applications are now open for the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship Scheme.
Expressions of Interest open at midday on 5 June 2026 and closes at midday on 25 June 2026.
What is Mitacs?
Mitacs is a UK–Canada mobility programme that co-funds undergraduate students from a range of disciplines to complete a 12-week summer research internship at one of 70 participating Canadian universities.
This is a fully funded opportunity. Four University of Manchester students will be jointly funded by Mitacs and the University for summer 2027.
Funding covers:
- Return airfare (via reimbursement)
- Student fees at the host institution (via reimbursement)
- Visa fees (via reimbursement)
- Living expenses
- Accommodation allowance
- Canadian medical insurance
- Professional development training
- Registration for industry events
- Access to the Mitacs mentor scheme
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must:
- Have at least one year remaining of your undergraduate programme as of autumn 2027
- Have a minimum average of 65% (or 60% if you are from a widening participation background)
