Happy Diwali

The Krishna Consciousness Society (KCSoc) wishes everyone a very happy and blissful Diwali. As per eastern wisdom and philosophy, each and every individual is a special part of this wonderful creation that we see around ourselves.

Specifically, it is said that we are Eternal, Knowledgeable and blissful in existence. Sometimes however, by the influence of the material world, we seem to be displaced from such a happy state of existence and face anxiety and pain.

Diwali and all other major festivals are there to give us a chance to remind us of our joyful existence. It is called the festival of illumination, because of the culture of lighting lamps, which symbolizes destruction of the darkness of ignorance by the torchlight of knowledge.

True knowledge means to know who we are and where we come from. Diwali gives us the chance to meditate on our eternal relationship with divinity and reconnect with our higher existence through various methods, collectively called “Bhakti” or Loving Devotional Service.

We hope and pray that on this Diwali, everyone will be able to celebrate with their near and dear ones, destroying the darkness of ignorance, and have a day filled with loving devotional service.
