By 2035, our University will look very different—and you have the power to shape it. Our Manchester 2025 strategy is all about transforming student life, learning, and Manchester’s impact on the world. If you’ve ever wanted to change something about your University experience, now’s your chance! 

What is Manchester 2035? 

In Phase 1, more than 5,500 students, staff, and alumni shared their thoughts and ideas on what Manchester should look like in the future.  

Now, in Phase 2, we’re turning those ideas into bold proposals (or “leaps”) that could transform the University. We’ve heard that good foundations matter: world-class teaching, cutting-edge research, and an incredible student experience. But what else should we be striving for? How can Manchester lead the way and make an even bigger difference locally and globally? 

We need you! 

Over the next few weeks, we’re inviting all students to explore, challenge, and add your voice. These ideas aren’t final decisions, they’re starting points, and your input will shape the next steps.

The future of Manchester isn’t decided behind closed doors—it’s shaped by the people who are part of it. Whether you care about sustainability, student support, diversity, research, innovation, or something else entirely, their input could influence what the University prioritises for years to come.
