Visit our roadshow to hear all about Canvas!

We’ve got some exciting in-person stalls lined up after the Easter break for you to hear about our transition from Blackboard to Canvas.

Come and talk to students and colleagues who have been involved in the move:

  • Tuesday 29 April 10:00 – 14:00 Nancy Rothwell Building (ground floor, south entrance)
  • Wednesday 30 April 10:00 – 14:00 University Place (ground floor foyer)
  • Tuesday 6 May 10:00 – 14:00 Main Library (ground floor foyer)
  • Thursday 8 May 11:00 – 15:00 Student’s Union (ground floor foyer)

There’s no need to register. Just turn up to ask your questions, pick up some goodies and find out what you need to do to prepare.

Are you ready to say goodbye to Blackboard?

We expect many of you are looking forward to using Canvas from September, but there’s still work to be done in Blackboard before then.

When Blackboard is switched off, your assessment submissions and feedback from previous years will not be immediately available in Canvas, as they will be saved separately to an archive area.

Before the next academic year, make sure you download any historical Submission and Feedback content from Blackboard so you have them easily available. After September 2025, if you want to access past assessments, you will need to request them via a Connect form and it may take some time to process your request.

What data do I need to download?

  • Submissions
  • Feedback
  • Discussions
  • Wikis (if used)

Here are some guidance documents to help you start downloading:
Turnitin: A student guide to downloading content
Gradescope guidance
