Film Fear 2025 at HOME (31st Oct – 6th Nov)
If you’re still not over spooky season, you can still catch a mix of horror classics and indie thrillers at HOME. Student tickets start at £5, and it’s a great excuse for a cinema night that’s a bit different
Christmas Markets (7th November – onwards)
They’re finally back! The city gives in to the Christmas spirits filled with fairy lights, wooden stalls, and the smell of mulled wine. Head to Piccadilly Gardens, King Street or St Ann’s Square for festive snacks and handmade trinkets. Free entry, just bring your student ID for discounts at some stalls!
Being Human Festival at Manchester Art Gallery (8th)
Each November, Being Human Festival invites researchers and community partners to create engaging events. This day of activities at Manchester Art Gallery focuses on artist Holly Graham’s exhibition The Warp / The Weft / The Wake, exploring Manchester’s cotton industry through new and underrepresented stories. Free entry and a fascinating look at Manchester’s industrial and cultural legacy.
Manchester to the World: Panama Wildlife Conservation at Manchester Museum (15th)
Join Dr. Luis Ureña from Panama Wildlife Conservation Charity in Kanaris Theatre for an inspiring free talk about four key projects protecting Panama’s unique biodiversity. Learn about initiatives like the Harlequin Toad and Great Green Macaw projects and discover how local communities and scientists are working together to protect the environment. Lorde (15th)
The Grammy winning singer brings her Solar Power tour to Manchester’s AO Arena for a night of amazing pop and unforgettable vocals. Expect all-time favourites like Royals and Green Light. Tickets are sold out but resales are still available and can make it more affordable, perfect for a big night out with friends.
Vinyl Night at Street Side (Every Wednesday)
Bring your favourite records and take your turn on the decks. A relaxed, midweek vinyl session where guests can spin their own personal selections, sip cocktails and enjoy good music and conversation. No big productions, just music lovers sharing.
The Blues Kitchen (Every Saturday)
Spend your Saturday night soaking up soul, funk, and classics at The Blues Kitchen. Their Manchester Got Soul series brings live bands and DJs together for a night of dancing and good cocktails. With free entry and a lively crowd, it’s the perfect student-friendly spot for a fun night out without splurging.
The Warehouse Project (throughout November and December)
The season is in full swing this November at Depot Mayfield, with massive line-ups including Peggy Gou, Disclosure, and Bicep. If you love house, techno, or just dancing until late, this is the spot. Check for student deals on selected nights!

Manchester United Women vs Manchester City Women (15th)
Catch the Women’s Super League Derby at Old Trafford, the atmosphere is incredible, and tickets are way cheaper than the men’s matches. Feel free to head to your favourite pub and watch with some friends alongside some drinks!
The Manchester 1.5k, 5k, 10k and Half Marathon MoRun (16th)
Cheer on the runners (or join if you’re feeling brave) as the city turns out for one of the coolest running events of the year. Free to watch and a great day for city energy and motivation. Tickets start at £30!
South Manchester ParkRun (Every Saturday)
Your weekend reset! A free, friendly 5K at Platt Fields Park, run, walk, or just enjoy the vibes. Perfect if you’re looking to meet new people or get outside before lunch.
Maker’s Market (Throughout November)
Still going strong with new stalls every week. From sweet treats to quirky handmade gifts, it’s great for early Christmas shopping. Find them in Ancoats, Salford Quays, and Didsbury, all free entry.
