Brief network outages are expected on the evenings of Tuesday 17 and Thursday 19 February as IT Services completes essential upgrades to the University of Manchester’s data centres.
Starting at 6pm on both days, students and staff are asked to be mindful of a disruption to their wired and wireless internet access on campus, and possible disruption to networked services during these evenings. On both evenings, the work is due to be completed by 10pm, with members of IT Services testing and monitoring services to ensure they return to normal.
This upgrade is part of a wider investment programme in our University’s wired and Wi-Fi services, ensuring the network is resilient, secure and future-proof.
