Your Voice, Our Library: Sharing the results of the Library Student Sentiment Survey  

Thank you to everyone who completed the latest Library Student Sentiment Survey. As a result of you taking the time to give your feedback, it helps us make the Library a better place for you and for the whole student community. Every comment, big or small, guides how we improve our spaces, services and support.  

Here’s what we learned, and how your voice is helping shape your Library. 

You told us the Library helps you feel part of a community and that means a lot to us. 

We’re working with you: Your feedback was that the Library plays a positive role in your wellbeing and helps you feel part of the wider University community. We’re really proud to hear this, and we’ll keep working with you to make our spaces welcoming, supportive and comfortable for everyone who uses them. 

You told us we provide reliable access to the right resources. 

We’re working with you: You shared how important it is to have easy access to the books, ebooks, journals and online materials needed for study. We’re continuing to build and improve our collections so you can find what you need, when you need it. 

Your study environment matters and together we’re shaping better spaces. 

We’re working with you: You value spaces that meet your needs. The refurbishment of the Main Library toilet facilities, the redevelopment of the Muriel Stott Building with its additional bookable quiet study spaces, and the new Cosy Campus area in Library Lounge are all part of creating places where you can study, recharge, and feel at home on campus. We’ll keep developing our spaces throughout 2026, guided by what you tell us matters most. 

You told us that accessing help isn’t always as clear as it could be. 

We’re working with you: We hear you and we’re working to make it simpler for you to find the support you need, whether you’re in the building or online. We want you to feel confident that help is always easy to find. 

If you ever need support, our staff are here to help. Drop by any Library site, speak to someone in on site in branded purple clothing or the Student Team in red, or use Library Chat available on every page on the Library website
