On Wednesday 28 February, Robbie Beale, Activities and Cultures Officer at the Students’ Union, hosted an open meeting to discuss the visa-check in process and put your questions to senior University leaders.
You can watch the meeting in full below:
It was announced in the meeting that the current visa check-in process will be scrapped from September 2024.
A new University-wide system, provided by SEAtS Software will be introduced. This will help us identify any concerns relating to attendance. These may arise from personal, health or other challenges and allow us to provide better support for students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. It will also make it simpler for students to demonstrate that they have met any attendance requirements related to accreditation, regulatory or legislative obligations from external bodies.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students on taught programmes will be able to record their attendance via a mobile app, by scanning a QR code or entering a numeric code shared within a class.
Professors Danielle George and Steve Pettifer from the project will be engaging with the Students’ Union and any thoughts or comments are welcome by email to engagementanalytics@manchester.ac.uk
